Andover is a rural town in Tolland County, located in the
northern part of the Hop River valley. Andover has a rich history and was at one point a significant stop on the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route (W3R). The Andover section of the W3R has 26 historic homes, including the White tavern where Rochambeau was known to stay.
As well as being a part of the historic W3R, Andover's Center is recognized as a historic district by the National Register of Historic places. Andover Center is comprised of homes, stores, and a fire station built in the Federal and Colonial style.

Avon incorporated in 1830, borders Farmington and West Hartford in Connecticut's Hartford County. Avon is home to over 65 houses listed on the National Register of Historic Places along with historic buildings such as the Living Museum, Derrin House, and Pine Grove School House.
The National Register of Historic Places has designated a section of West Avon as the Pine Grove Historic District. This district includes the Pine Grove Schoolhouse and 5 homes built prior to 1865.
In 1997, the town of Avon conducted a historic building survey with a grant from the State Historic Commission. This survey found sixteen roads in Avon with over 65 homes dating as far back as 1757. The majority of these homes are Greek Revival and Victorians located on East Main Street, Huckleberry Hill Road, and Lovely Street.

Incorporated in 1720, Bolton is one of the older Connecticut towns well known for its history. In the "American Guide Series," The Connecticut volume, subtitled "A guide to its Roads, Lore, and People," Bolton is listed at number six "old and historic" with an index of historic houses.
Bolton is homes to 130 acres of historically significant land along with the Jared Cone house which are both on the National Register of Historic Places. A survey of historical and architectural resources conducted in the late 70's identified 63 sites in Bolton considered important enough to be listed. These sites included houses, churches, cemeteries, quarries, and one long-standing business.

Farmington¡¯s historical district, also known as Farmington Village is made up of 2750 acres and 114 buildings. Many of these historical/antique buildings and homes are located on: Porter Road, Mountain Road, Garden Street, Hatter Lane, Hillstead Lane, and Farmington Avenue.
The most popular historical area is Farmington village's Main Street. Main Street is home to a number of homes built from the mid-eighteenth century to the mid-nineteenth century. Many of these houses, built by the town's founding families, have survived modernization and development because of a woman by the name of Sarah Porter. Porter, founder of Miss Porter¡¯s School (late 1800¡¯s), made sure that railroad and trolley tracks avoided what is now a historic district, saving many antique homes.

Glastonbury is the third largest town in Connecticut, known 
for its many charming old houses. Providing great character, these antique homes give Glastonbury something to be extremely proud of. As well as having more genuine colonial houses than any other town in the Connecticut, Glastonbury has the second highest number of antique homes in all of the United States.
Today, Glastonbury has 154 homes built before 1800
(four of which date from the 1600s) and more than 430 homes built in the 1800s. This means that Glastonbury holds over 580 houses that are over 100 years old, six of which are over three centuries old. Every year, many homes built in the early 1900s reach the century mark, bringing the total to about 750 with more still yet to come.

Old farm houses line the highways leading to Lebanon in eastern Connecticut between Norwich and Willimantic, where the town center resembles many picturesque New England villages with a library, churches and town hall clustered around the green.
Because of the significance of the green and the number of buildings associated with figures prominent in state and local history, the Lebanon green was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. Of the 68 structures listed on the Register, 49 are considered historically significant and include a variety of styles from Colonial to modern.
Most of the buildings are private homes. Among these are the William Williams house, the birth-site of William A. Buckingham, the Civil War governor; and Redwood, a masterpiece by Isaac Fitch.

The Mansfield Hollows Historic District is comprised of a collection of historic sites along the Willimantic River. At one point, Mansfield was an industrial power, home to a verity of industries and the very first Silk mill in the United States.
Today, Mansfield boasts a community of historic, Greek revival homes located around the sites of the old Mills of Mansfield Hollows. A collection of these historic homes have been names after their original owners such as: Zalmon Storrs, Captain George Swift, Nathan Rixford, and Oliver Bingham.

Plainfield has the distinction of having four National Register H istoric Districts. The large amount of area with historical significance is due to the number of mill buildings and their associated villages. These buildings and villages have been preserved by the Town in recognition of Plainfield's industrial past.
The four historical districts are:
Central Village Historic District which includes the separately listed Plainfield Woolen Co (Central Square Condominiums) roughly School, Main and Water Streets and Putnam Road to Plainfield High School
Lawton Mills Historic District roughly bounded by Second Street, Railroad Avenue, Norwich Road and Fifth and Ninth Streets
Plainfield Street, including the First Congregational Church of Plainfield roughly, Norwich Road from Academy Hill Road to Railroad Avenue
Wauregan Historic District roughly bounded by CT 12, Third Street, Quinebaug River and Chestnut Street.

The Town of West Hartford has been appointed both a Historic District Commission and an Architectural Heritage Committee which placed historic markers at several sites throughout town commemorating West Hartford's long history.
The Historic District Commission has established three historic districts in West Hartford under state statute, celebrating their historic and architectural significance: Buena Vista, Boulevard and West Hill.
Each year residents of West Hartford are recognized for their efforts in preserving their antique treasures. Residents living in homes built before 1950 are eligible to receive yearly Historic Preservation Awards for the preservation and renovations of antique homes.

According to representatives from the State Historical Commission, the 40 block area constitutes one of the largest historic districts in the state. Every year in early June, the Willimantic Victorian Neighborhood Association holds a weeklong Victorian Days Celebration with concerts, lecture series, gardening activities and culminating in a weekend tour of homes that are opened to the public by private homeowners of ¡°The Hill Section¡±.
